PANIC ATTACKS TREATMENT
A Group Program with Dr. Carbonell
Next Group - Fall, 2011
Here is a panic attacks treatment group which will help you regain control of your life and free you to live the life you choose. Come join Dr. Carbonell in a group program of panic attacks treatment which will help you overcome this problem and achieve the recovery you seek. People who suffer with panic attacks often live their lives "on defense". They worry about having panic attacks, and what the attacks might do to them. They worry about how others will judge them if their attacks attract attention. They struggle to prevent and avoid future panic attacks. All too often, the result is more anticipatory fear, more panic, and more avoidance. When you’re caught up in this cycle, it’s hard to believe that you can recover. But those doubts are the panic talking, not you. You can recover. In this group, you will learn, and practice, the tools and approach which will help you regain your freedom from panic and phobias.
The Tools & Techniques You Need
This group will give you the panic attacks treatment methods you need to break the pattern of recurrent panic attacks, worry, and phobias, and give you the opportunity to practice with these tools. It will teach you a self help approach, based on proven cognitive behavioral methods of desensitization and exposure that you can use to achieve recovery. And it will take place in a supportive group atmosphere, with a small number of other people who share your problem and your desire to overcome it. The group will be led by me, Dave Carbonell. I’m a psychologist and have specialized in helping people overcome fear and phobias for more than 20 years. I’ll be using the methods you see described on this website and in my Panic Attacks Workbook.
HERE'S WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
1. How the panic cycle works, and how you can break it 2. How to interrupt and terminate a panic attack 3. How to use desensitization methods to free yourself from the fear of panic 4. How to develop and follow your own program of progressive exposure 5. How to work with fearful anticipatory thoughts and worries 6. How to respond to the physical symptoms of an attack 7. How to overcome avoidance 8. How to respond to family and friends who don’t understand the problem 9. The “Trick” of panic which makes it so hard to solve, & how to solve it 10. How to stop demonizing your panic, and treat it like the solvable problem it is
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
This group is designed for people who experience panic attacks and phobias, and who want to learn how to use cognitive behavioral methods to achieve recovery.
